Nocturne:' intriguing cast, implausible mystery

Apple TV’s new murder mystery series Nocturne premieres Friday and is set in Fairhaven, a small town in western Pennsylvania. The production is filmed where the story takes place, avoiding the usual stand-in locations. The cast is a major draw: Stephen Graham plays Jurek Walter, a serial killer confined in solitary in a psychiatric hospital basement cell, still influencing events from behind concrete. Liev Schreiber stars as Jonah Lynn, an ex-Army Ranger and former Philadelphia detective, while Zazie Beetz plays Saga Bauer, an undercover FBI agent and Jonah’s goddaughter. The plot kicks off with the return of a long-missing boy and spreads into searches, FBI tension, and hospital intrigue.
