One the Funniest (and Hardest to Watch) TV Shows Is Now on Netflix

Netflix added a documentary about the classic sketch series SCTV: The Greatest Show You've Never Heard Of, returning attention to an influential comedy show. The piece looks back on SCTV’s impact and notes that many comedy fans know its star-studded roots—John Candy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Martin Short—though the title itself still sounds obscure. The article contrasts this with another Netflix arrival that the subtitle “greatest show you’ve never heard of” arguably fits better: Police Squad! Created by David and Jerry Zucker with Jim Abrahams after Airplane! and starring Leslie Nielsen as Detective Frank Drebin, the series was canceled by ABC after six episodes due to poor ratings.
