Planning its own July 4 concert: Who's playing?

America250 has announced its July 4 Block Party in Los Angeles as part of the nation’s 250th birthday celebrations. The Veterans Memorial Coliseum show on July 4 starts at 6 p.m. PDT and features Chris Stapleton, Smashing Pumpkins and Queen Latifah, who is hosting. Tickets went on sale June 16 for $17.76 each, and the event runs through July 5 with a Block Party Village and a drone spectacular planned for the finale. America250 says 5,000 tickets will be donated to first responders, veterans and service members to attend the Los Angeles program, supporting charitable nonprofit initiatives. The Block Party competes that day with Freedom 250’s Salute to America in Washington, D.C.; both conclude with fireworks, but with different tones and locales.
