Power' Deal: Netflix Licenses 4 Series Of Starz Franchise - Exclusive

Netflix is set to carry Starz’s Power universe in most international markets under a new licensing deal with Lionsgate Television. The streamer has acquired non-exclusive international rights to Power, Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force, plus domestic rights to the original “mothership” series. Starz will remain the exclusive U.S. home for the franchise, with the only exception being that the original series is shared. All seasons of Power and its three main spinoffs will continue on Starz’s app and platforms, while new offshoots Power: Origins and Power: Legacy are not included in the Netflix deal. The first four series arrive on Netflix at the beginning of November, with local timing varying by market. Power’s full run also moves to Netflix in Canada and the U.S. in November, following earlier U.S. licensing to Hulu since 2017. Raising Kanan season 5 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on Starz and streams weekly, leading to an Aug. 7 finale.
