Strictly to get first spin-off show in 22 years with dance duels and famous host

Strictly is set to launch its first spin-off in 22 years with a new BBC program designed to bring in younger viewers through “duels” between professional dancers. The show, titled Strictly Pro Dance Off, will debut alongside the start of the next ballroom contest series, which begins on Saturday. The format pairs a pro “teacher” with two others to learn a routine, then the trio performs and the teacher pro decides the winner who advances to the following week. Dianne Buswell, 37, will lead, alongside expected new professionals including Maddie Ingoldsby, 23. Each duel lasts seven minutes. The series will air on BBC One and iPlayer, though a specific date and time are still pending.
