Ted Lasso' Season 4 Opens With 296.6 Million Minutes Watched in Two Days, Apple TV's Biggest Launch Ever
“Ted Lasso” Season 4 has opened with Nielsen-measured viewership of 296.6 million minutes watched across Aug. 4–5, making it Apple TV’s biggest launch ever, surpassing previous seasons and other breakout titles such as “Severance” and “Pluribus.” Nielsen also reports the Season 4 premiere was the most-streamed program in the U.S. on Aug. 5 alone, with more than 200 million minutes watched that day. An estimated-views metric put the premiere at 7.1 million, using a calculation based on the episode’s 42-minute runtime. Season 4 is set three years after Season 3 and follows Ted returning to Richmond to coach a second-division women’s team. Jason Sudeikis leads returning cast including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift, with newcomers such as Tanya Reynolds and Jude Mack.
