Texas Representative Ron Reynolds Recognizes Ye at Record Houston Show
Texas State Representative Ron Reynolds presented rapper Ye with an official state proclamation and a Global Icon Award following the artist’s landmark Halloween performance at Houston’s Reliant Stadium. The recognition included a commemorative Texas flag flown over the State Capitol, honoring Ye’s contributions to music and culture. The presentation capped a record-breaking night organized by independent promoter IKON Presents. The show drew an official attendance of 74,412 fans, described as the highest-attended hip-hop concert in U.S. history and a break from Ye’s previous record. The Halloween set spanned Ye’s career and featured appearances by Playboi Carti and Ye’s daughter, North West. Drake and Houston native Travis Scott were also reportedly in the crowd. After Houston, IKON Presents scheduled additional U.S. stadium dates for November 7 in the Dallas area and November 21 in Phoenix.
