The Hawk Trailer: Will Ferrell Brings Talladega Nights Energy to New Netflix TV Show

Netflix has released the official trailer for The Hawk, the upcoming sports-comedy series starring Will Ferrell. Known for Talladega Nights, Ferrell plays Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, a legendary but washed-up golfer trying to regain his magic in the back nine of his career. The trailer spotlights Lonnie’s final push to reclaim the “Big Shot Golfer” title and pursue a one more major needed to complete golf’s Grand Slam. He also attempts to reconnect and compete with his son Lance, played by Jimmy Tatro, and his ex-wife Stacy, portrayed by Molly Shannon. The supporting cast includes Fortune Feimster, Luke Wilson, Chris Parnell, Katelyn Tarver, and David Hornsby. Created by Ferrell and executive produced by Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor, with additional EPs including Rian Johnson, the series arrives on Netflix on July 16, 2026.
