The 'Millennial Weird Al' is back with a new target: Paul Simon | CNN
The “Millennial Weird Al” is back with a new target: Paul Simon, as Kyle Gordon’s latest viral parody, “Mr. Jambo,” takes aim at the style and persona of the celebrated singer-songwriter. Gordon, 33, previously struck mainstream success in 2023 with “Planet of the Bass,” which parodied ’90s Europop and helped make him an internet star featured by major outlets including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and NPR. Released last week, “Mr. Jambo” features Barry Bergen, a traveler who claims to find enlightenment while locals struggle to tolerate him. Gordon financed a trip to South Africa and Eswatini in April to film the video, inspired by Simon’s 1980s “Graceland” sessions. “Kyle Gordon Is Everywhere” follows, releasing October 2 with narration from Daniel Radcliffe.
