This Sci-Fi Netflix Series Inspired By A Podcast Is A Perfect Weekend Binge Watch - BGR
xCruzo Brief
“Archive 81,” a science-fiction horror series on Netflix, is returning viewers to the kind of mystery that’s hard to stop watching. Released in 2022, the show is based on a podcast by Daniel Powell and Marc Sollinger and unfolds across two timelines: 1994 and the present. The story follows Dan (Mamoudou Athie), an archivist working with Hi8 tapes, and Melody (Dina Shihabi), who investigates the “Visser” apartment building. As Dan restores more tapes and Melody interviews residents, the series suggests something sinister is lingering in the building. With eight episodes lasting 45 to 58 minutes each, it’s built for a weekend binge.
