Unforgettable archive from global icon of British music coming to East Yorkshire
An exhibition celebrating David Bowie is set to arrive in East Yorkshire, bringing the artist’s touring-era archive to new audiences. The display, David Bowie: On Tour, will feature 100 relics connected to Bowie, including items not previously shown publicly. It is scheduled to run at Ferens Art Gallery in Hull from February to May 2028, after debuting earlier in Dundee at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) starting in November 2026 and running until February 2027. The collection includes artifacts from Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust period, such as costumes by Freddie Burretti and Kansai Yamamoto, and an acoustic guitar used during the Ziggy years. The exhibition also highlights Hull and East Riding links through members of the Spiders from Mars. Cultural leaders and V&A officials describe it as a landmark partnership, with subsequent stops including Blackpool, County Durham, and Bristol.
