Wet Leg's Rhian Teasdale says she got "kicked out" of GCSE music
Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale says she got “kicked out” of GCSE music, describing an early setback that she later reframed as part of her musical journey. In a new interview, Teasdale said she was removed from her GCSE music course because she was too far behind the rest of the class, despite being a successful frontwoman now. She also argued that music enjoyment does not require elite technical skills, saying it is not necessary to be a “virtuoso guitarist” to play and share songs. Teasdale cited learning to play “Molly’s Chambers” by Kings of Leon as a turning point. She previously told NME that her daily happiness improved once she began working as a stylist before signing. Her band’s second album, Moisturizer, was named NME’s 22nd best album of 2025.
