What time the 2026 Emmys start tonight and how to watch live

The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards are moving from their traditional Sunday slot to Monday, Sept. 14, in Los Angeles, with Mariska Hargitay hosting at the Peacock Theater at LA Live. The ceremony starts at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and airs live on NBC, with streaming on Peacock and later on-demand availability. Pre-event coverage for star arrivals begins with E!’s “Countdown to The Emmys” at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT. The Creative Arts Emmys were held Sept. 5 and 6, with an edited broadcast on FXX on Sept. 12. The schedule shift is attributed to NBC’s NFL commitments: Sunday Night Football occupied the network’s prime-time slot on Sept. 13, when the Dallas Cowboys played the New York Giants. In the UK, the main ceremony starts at 1 a.m. BST on Sept. 15.
