What to see during DC Theatre Week

Washington’s DC Theatre Week highlights a packed lineup running from now through early November, spanning new musicals, major drama, and crowd-pleasing hits. At Mosaic Theater, “Somewhere Over the Border” is a new musical from Mexodus creator Brian Quijada, inspired by his mother’s journey from El Salvador and drawing riffs from “The Wizard of Oz.” Round House Theatre offers “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” through Oct. 18, with a production that spotlights Austin’s praise for August Wilson’s music-filled drama. Ford’s Theatre stages “Come From Away” through Oct. 18, followed by Studio Theatre’s “Wish You Were Here” at Studio Theatre through Nov. 1.
