Anna Morris: World champion's medical career still 'on pause' for Olympics

Anna Morris’ “career as a doctor on pause” is still paused as the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics come into focus. After watching the Tokyo Olympics as a junior doctor, the 31-year-old from Wales switched focus to cycling and has now collected three world titles to underline her elite status. She won gold in the team pursuit, omnium and madison, becoming the first woman to sweep all three at a single championships since women’s madison entered the program in 2017. Earlier this summer she also took two Commonwealth Games golds and a bronze. The World Championships served as a qualification step toward 2028, and Morris says hard work and consistency are driving her next push.
