Could generate up to $40.6 billion for region, study says

A study released Tuesday projects that the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games could generate up to $40.6 billion in economic output and support as many as 224,000 jobs across the Greater Los Angeles region. Conducted by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation and commissioned by LA28, the analysis estimates an $20.5 billion to $40.6 billion range in economic activity from preparation through the conclusion of the Games in 2028. The report covers Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties and includes spending on operations, transportation, security, capital projects, visitor activity and long-term investment. It also highlights that infrastructure investment could be the largest impact driver, with about $8.35 billion accelerated for event-linked needs.
