About minutes later, a 51-year-old man was shot in the right arm in the 6500 block of South Claremont Avenue and was transported to U of C Hospital in serious condition. Earlier reports from Friday included an 18-year-old shot while walking near South Indiana Avenue, and an incident where two uniformed officers were hurt after a traffic stop, with one officer’s vest stopping a bullet. The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating.
