Drug dealer says 'serves you right for doing that to my mum' after stabbing dad

A murder trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court heard that Richard Beckles, 19, stabbed his father, Trey Johnson, 30, on Christmas Day after confronting him near the defendant’s home in the East Park area of Wolverhampton. The prosecution said the pair had a prior conflict after gossip suggested Johnson had sold drugs to Beckles’ mother, a nurse. Prosecutors allege Beckles and his brother Tiego, 21, left Johnson outside the De Fusion club and, less than 30 minutes later, Beckles lunged with a large knife, stabbing Johnson in the chest while Tiego was present with a baseball bat. Johnson died minutes later. Beckles denied murder and claimed self-defence, saying he feared Johnson intended to stab or shoot him.
