Family of kids killed by mom in knife attack fear Clancy outcome

A North Dakota police affidavit describes a knife attack by 22-year-old Kailey Erhart in Mandan in which she allegedly killed two young children and seriously wounded a third on Aug. 6. Prosecutors say Erhart had earlier told her husband, Cameron, that if he called police, their children would be dead before officers arrived. Cameron disarmed her and tried to keep their children—Morgan, 3, and five-month-old Ava, among them—safe as she allegedly reached into a car to pull Ava back out. Officers later found Erhart inside with the knife at her throat. Ava died that evening; Morgan the next morning. Colton survived and was discharged.
