Fishin' for the Cure

Fishin' for the Cure is a charity tournament series raising funds for childhood cancer research through a Fort Peck stop on the Montana-North Dakota walleye circuit. The 2026 event takes place Saturday, August 8, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a mandatory rules meeting Friday, August 7 at Rock Creek Marina. The field is capped at 40 teams, operating a catch-measure-release format; boats may carry up to 15 fish and must weigh their top five by 3 p.m. The tournament is open to anyone with a Montana fishing license, with proceeds supporting the cause and the Friday meeting often doubling as a fundraiser. Pre-launch inspections protect Fort Peck from invasive species.
