Flight physical: Florida's doctors clear Jon Fay for takeoff in HD 2
Jon Fay, a Navy veteran running for Florida House District 2, received a “flight physical” of sorts after clearance from the Florida Medical Association PAC (FMA PAC) for the Republican primary. The PAC endorsed Fay, citing his 24 years of Navy service and his goal of working with Florida’s medical community on veterans’ healthcare. Fay said one reason for entering the race was to give a voice to veterans who interact with the healthcare system, arguing for “care” and needed treatments. A 2000 U.S. Naval Academy graduate, he previously served as a Naval Flight Officer, including Operation Enduring Freedom, earthquake relief in Nepal, and as Executive Officer of the Blue Angels at Naval Air Station Pensacola. He’s seeking to succeed term-limited Rep. Alex Andrade. The primary is Aug. 18, a two-man contest.
