Groundbreaking Art Exhibition Celebrating the Cleft Community to Launch During Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month
The 100 Cleft Portraits Tour, presented by the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association (ACPA), will launch during Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month to showcase lived experiences of people born with cleft lip and/or palate. Announced July 15, 2026, the traveling art exhibition visits 12 U.S. cities from July through August 2026, building on a world debut in London in July 2025. Created by UK-based artist and trauma-informed coach Katie Manning, the tour features 100 portraits paired with personal stories designed to move beyond clinical framing. The effort is supported nationally by Children’s Mercy Hospital–Kansas City, Smile Train, myFace, and the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation. ACPA Executive Director Adam Levy said the organization, working for more than 80 years, aims to improve outcomes through visibility and representation. The tour’s messaging highlights education, awareness, and connection, with Smile Train described as a sponsor supporting Manning’s advocacy and cleft community advisory work.
