Kate hugs mum ringing 'end of cancer treatment' bell
The Princess of Wales, Kate, personally congratulated a young mother as she rang the 'end of treatment' bell at The Christie hospital in Manchester, marking the completion of chemotherapy. Kate joined Claire Lorente, a 30-year-old patient, and family members in the hospital’s specialist cancer unit for a memorable moment of celebration. The Christie, one of Europe’s leading cancer centres serving over 60,000 patients annually, offers holistic care including drop‑in art classes, a well‑being garden, and chaplaincy services free of charge to patients and carers. During the visit, Kate spoke with Claire and her partner Pablo, praising the journey and acknowledging the family’s challenges. The royal visit also included an art session with six patients and time in the Teenage and Young Adult unit before concluding the day.
