Lawrence "Larry" A. Gifford (1948 - 2026)

Lawrence “Larry” A. Gifford, 77, died peacefully in Wauseon, Ohio, with family present in the early hours of Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. Born in Toledo to the late Arthur and Anne (Thomas) Gifford, he graduated from Start High School and later spent more than 30 years working for Conrail and CSX Railroad, serving as a conductor and tower operator. On June 29, 2000, he married Sueellen Altaffer in Toledo, and they shared nearly 26 years of marriage. He supported multiple veterans organizations, including Wauseon American Legion Post #265 and Wauseon VFW Post #7424. Music was a key passion; he played keyboard in various bands, and he also rode a Harley-Davidson and bowled competitively. Per his wishes, no public services were held, and arrangements were handled by Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Delta, Ohio.
