Millions of eye-drop bottles are being recalled nationwide in the United States due to a potential foreign substance, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The product is Prednisolone Acetate Ophthalmic Suspension (1%); the FDA says the recall covers more than 2.5 million bottles manufactured by Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc. The FDA listed recall number D-0655-2026 and a total quantity of 2,530,182 bottles across multiple lot codes and pack sizes, including 5 mL, 10 mL, and 15 mL. The recall is classified as Class II, meaning use or exposure may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse consequences. Lupin Pharmaceuticals was contacted for comment but was not immediately available.
