Nov. 3 Election Guide: Meet the U.S. Senate candidates
In Louisiana’s U.S. Senate race on Nov. 3, Rep. Julia Letlow will face Tensas Parish farmer Jamie Davis for the seat currently held by Sen. Bill Cassidy after Cassidy lost the Republican primary earlier this year. WWNO/WRKF asked candidates to answer questions on issues including coastal restoration, data centers, and regulation of AI, among others. Davis submitted a questionnaire response; Letlow did not. Davis said he supports abortion and reproductive-health decisions between women and their doctors, argued for local consent in land and water decisions affecting projects, and opposed carbon capture and sequestration via eminent domain to seize private property. He also called for full congressional funding of Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan and urged a federal moratorium on data centers until impacts on land and water are better understood.
