Pathology's Future Is Connected, Hyland Is Bringing It Into Focus
Hyland says it is bringing pathology closer to enterprise digital imaging. In a release dated October 27, 2026, the company announced Hyland Digital Pathology, powered by Tribun Health’s CaloPix platform, aiming to address fragmentation that has kept pathology “disconnected” from broader healthcare imaging modernization. The company cites that about 90% of diagnostic pathology still relies on glass slides and claims laboratories face a 42% surge in diagnostic workloads alongside deep pathologist shortages, contributing to unacceptable delays. Hyland Digital Pathology is described as an FDA-cleared, Health Canada licensed, CE-marked digital pathology software for primary diagnosis, positioned as Class 1 IVD (ARTG No. 531926). The solution emphasizes vendor-neutral archiving, universal viewing, and interoperability, designed to support coordinated workflows across radiology, cardiology, ophthalmology, and pathology—without creating another silo.
