People dead after vehicle goes into Booneville Lake late Thursday, Sebastian County officials say | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
A vehicle accident near Booneville Lake in Sebastian County, Arkansas, killed two people and sent a third for medical treatment after a crash late Thursday, according to the Sebastian County sheriff’s office. Deputies responded at about 9:14 p.m. Thursday to the area of 12,000 Old Highway 10 following a report that an automobile went into the water. Authorities said one person got out of the vehicle and was taken to a local hospital, while two occupants were unable to escape. The sheriff’s office reported that names have not been released and that the investigation is ongoing. The Booneville School District posted on Facebook Friday morning, saying it was devastated by the “tragic loss” of two members of the Bearcat family in the accident. Booneville Lake spans 289 acres and lies near the Logan County line in the far southeast corner of Sebastian County.
