People dead after vehicle goes into Booneville Lake late Thursday, Sebastian County officials say | Arkansas Democrat Gazette
A vehicle accident near Booneville Lake in Sebastian County, Arkansas, killed two people and left a third injured late Thursday, according to the Sebastian County sheriff’s office. Deputies were dispatched at about 9:14 p.m. Thursday to the area of 12,000 Old Highway 10 after reports that a car went into the water. The release states that one occupant escaped and was taken to a local hospital, while two others were unable to get out. Names of the occupants have not been released, and the investigation remains ongoing. The Booneville School District issued a statement on Friday morning expressing heartbreak over the “tragic loss of two members” of its Bearcat community. Booneville Lake is a 289-acre body of water roughly 15 miles southeast of Greenwood and about eight miles west of Booneville.
