Pet food recall expands to 20 US states amid concerns over neurological symptoms
Go Raw LLC has expanded its voluntary recall to include an additional lot of Steve's Real Food Chicken Recipe Freeze Dried, 1.25-pound bags, lot code C2602, UPC 6-91730-164 02-7 and Best By date January 22, 2028. The product was distributed through retail stores in 20 states: California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin. The recall extends a February action prompted by one confirmed illness linked to the Freeze Dried Nuggets product. Thiamine deficiency can impair neurologic function in cats and dogs; early signs include decreased appetite, vomiting, salivation, weight loss, or poor growth. If it progresses, symptoms can include wobbliness, seizures, weakness and lethargy, and can be life-threatening. The company recommends stopping the affected food and returning it for a full refund. Earlier recalls included Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe Freeze Dried Nuggets and Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe Frozen Diet, identifiable by lot codes, UPCs, and Best By Dates.
