Sizzling sausages with 50 per cent more protein land with a bang in Lidl

Lidl is launching a new “High Protein Meat” range aimed at shoppers looking for more protein at lower cost. The range is described as the first of its kind from the retailer, combining British meat with pea protein. Prices start at £1.99, with items including High Protein Cumberland Sausages at £1.99 and “50% more protein” than traditional sausages, plus beef mince for family dishes such as chilli con carne, cottage pie, and spag bol priced from £4.79. Lidl also offers meatballs and quarter pounders, and says the line is available now in stores nationwide. The launch supports its plan to raise plant-based options to 25% of total protein offerings by 2030.
