Walmart and Care Access to add three new clinical trial centers | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
Walmart and Care Access will open three additional clinical trial centers next year, each connected to a Walmart Supercenter in Livonia, Michigan; Las Vegas; and San Antonio. The companies are also already partners at four sites—Houston and Tyler, Texas; Dalton, Georgia; and Brandon, Florida. According to Walmart, available study opportunities vary by location and over time, covering research areas that can include cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and weight management therapies. The partnership is designed to make medical study sites easier to reach by placing them in familiar community locations, rather than requiring patients to look for trials far from home. Walmart says the network will support clinical trial phases and raise awareness of clinical research options. The expansion was marked Tuesday with a grand opening in Houston.
