xCruzo Brief
Ethiopian runner Yomif Kejelcha reclaimed the men’s half marathon world record in Buenos Aires with a 56:51 clocking over 13.1 miles (21.1km), taking back a mark he previously held from October 2024 to March this year. Kejelcha won by more than two minutes in an all-Ethiopia 1-2-3, with Tadese Worku second in 59:18 and Bereket Nega third in 1:00:17. The record was also broken again twice in the past five months. Kejelcha improved by 29 seconds on Jacob Kiplimo’s 57:20 in Lisbon. It is the first year since 2007 to feature multiple revisions of the best men’s time. Kejelcha, 29, is now targeting longer distances, including the Valencia marathon in December.
