Acuna's milestone hit lifts Braves over Phillies | Arkansas Democrat Gazette
Ronald Acuña Jr. tied the game with a three-run homer, and Austin Riley added a go-ahead RBI triple as the Atlanta Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-4 on Sunday, extending their NL East lead to five games. Acuña launched a 100.5-mph fastball from Phillies reliever Alex McFarlane deep into right-center seats in the top of the eighth to make it 4-4; it was his 16th homer of the season and the seventh straight 100-plus pitch McFarlane threw to him. The blast was also Acuña’s 1,000th career hit, joining Hank Aaron as the only Braves player with 1,000 hits, 200 homers and 200 stolen bases. In the ninth, Ozzie Albies doubled and Riley tripled off the center-field fence. Dylan Lee earned the win, Raisel Iglesias got his 31st save, and Kyle Schwarber hit his MLB-leading 42nd homer for Philadelphia.
