Police in Albania clashed with protesters in Tirana late Tuesday as demonstrators tried to march to parliament on the 100th day of rallies against a luxury coastal development linked to U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The protests began after parliament resumed from summer recess and have escalated into a major test for Albania’s long-ruling Socialist government. In the capital’s center, protesters challenged a police cordon, throwing eggs and tomatoes at officers in riot gear. The campaign, dubbed the “flamingo revolution” due to pink-flamingo signs, seeks to stop the planned coastal project, which critics say would harm the environment and restrict public access to the shore. Prime Minister Edi Rama supports the investment and argues it will help modernize Albania. Several protesters were detained.
