Ali Sanchez's first homer helps Yankees complete rally vs. White Sox

Ali Sanchez hit his first major league home run in the eighth inning as the New York Yankees rallied to beat the Chicago White Sox 9-5 on Monday in Chicago. New York overcame an early three-run deficit and earned its fourth win in five games. The victory moved the Yankees within 2½ games of the idle Tampa Bay Rays for first place in the American League East. Chicago made three errors, and the White Sox lost three of their past four. New York scored five runs across the seventh and eighth innings, including a throwing-error run on a bunt single by Jazz Chisholm Jr. Sanchez, playing in his 75th MLB game across six teams, struck for a three-run shot off Sean Newcomb. Brent Headrick (6-1) earned the win, and David Bednar recorded his 21st save.
