Braun Strowman Returns to Wrestling for First Match in Over a Year
Braun Strowman returned to professional wrestling for his first match in more than a year, marking Adam Scherr’s comeback under the WWE ring name. Strowman—former WWE Universal Champion, WWE Intercontinental Champion, and 2018 Men’s Money in the Bank winner—has previously moved between promotions, including being released during a 2021 WWE wave, re-signed in 2022, and cut again in 2025. Reports in the article attribute the 2025 release to his salary, after which WWE reportedly considered a lower-salary part-time deal that he declined. His latest appearance was for GLCW Great Lakes Championship Wrestling at “Return of the Titan” in Wisconsin. Strowman won a 2-on-3 handicap match with Kal Herro against Tony Evans, Drew Hernandez and Tommy Boy in Ashippun. The event followed his first match in that stretch after losing to Jacob Fatu in a No. 1 Contender’s Match for LA Knight’s WWE United States Championship.
