Bubista: Cape Verde coach leaves after World Cup to join Moroccan club RS Berkane

Bubista has resigned as Cape Verde head coach to take charge of Moroccan club RS Berkane on a two-year contract. The 56-year-old led the “Blue Sharks” to the last 32 at last month’s World Cup, where they were beaten 3-2 by eventual runners-up Argentina after extra time. He also guided Cape Verde to the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals in 2023, having been appointed in January 2020. Berkane finished second in Morocco’s top flight last season and replaces Moin Chaabani, now Tunisia’s coach. Despite not being traditional giants, Berkane have won three CAF Confederation Cups and claimed their first league title in 2024-25.
