Dani Sordo explains co-driver change for WRC season finale

Dani Sordo has explained a surprise co-driver change for this week’s 2026 World Rally Championship season finale in Sardinia. The three-time WRC winner will drive Hyundai i20 N Rally1’s third factory entry on gravel with a new navigator, Patricia Saiz. Saiz, 27, makes her WRC debut, taking over pacenote duties from Candido Carrera, who had stepped in from 2021. Sordo said he and Saiz have already worked together on national events, including Belgium’s Ypres Rally, where they finished fourth overall and won the RGT class. Sordo also reiterated he wants a win or podium, calling Sardinia a rally he always enjoys. After the rally, Saiz will again co-drive with Sordo at Rally Legend in San Marino next weekend.
