Chicago Fire has loaned defender Christopher Cupps to Scotland’s Greenock Morton FC. The loan agreement runs through the end of 2026, with Chicago able to recall the teenager at any point. In a statement, Fire sporting director Gregg Broughton said the club is excited to see Cupps keep developing during the rest of the year in a “new and challenging environment.” He added that the 18-year-old has “very high potential” and a promising future with Chicago, and that he has stepped up to challenges faced so far. The club believes that playing competitive matches for the remainder of the year will help him mature as both a player and a person.
