Calgary Stampeders visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday with a key aim: avoid repeating a 44-20 defeat at Hamilton on Aug. 1 that included two defensive touchdowns by Calgary. While the Stampeders lead the CFL in scoring at 37.8 points per game, they have not won since that opener and are now in the West Division cellar after losing their form. Calgary has dropped two straight, but is coming off a bye week, with last action being a 30-26 home loss to the BC Lions on Aug. 13. Hamilton, meanwhile, has fallen into third in the East after losing four of five, including a 39-20 loss to Toronto last weekend. The Tiger-Cats’ Miles Fox said they’re still in a good position to keep pace with second-place Toronto. For Calgary, health is the most immediate concern: quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. and running back Dedrick Mills are dealing with head injuries, though head coach Dave Dickenson said both are trending positively.
