Definitely Not Pleased With It:' Alabama's Defensive Front Struggling to Record Sacks

Alabama’s defensive front has produced flashes early, but outside linebacker Yhonzae Pierre says the unit isn’t getting enough sacks in recent weeks as the Crimson Tide prepare to travel to LSU. After recording five sacks in a dominant day against Mississippi State, Alabama has been inconsistent over the next three games. In losses to Georgia and Tennessee, it registered only one sack each—both credited to Pierre—while the plays were described as not particularly impressive. The defense did have a strong fourth quarter versus Texas A&M, highlighted by Fatutoa Henry’s two sacks and Pierre drawing a hold. Pierre has 3.5 sacks in eight games, tied with Henry for the team lead, and says both he and the unit have “more to work on.”
