European football: Bellingham sparks Real Madrid's cruise to maintain perfect start

Real Madrid extended their perfect start in La Liga with a comfortable 4-0 home win over promoted Málaga on Sunday at the Bernabéu. Jude Bellingham opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a solo strike, followed by an own goal from Málaga goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero seven minutes later after Kylian Mbappé’s shot was only partially cleared. Mbappé made it 3-0 in the 30th minute with a volley from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross, then Arda Güler capped the rout in stoppage time. The result lifted Madrid to nine points from three matches, two ahead of Atlético Madrid and Alavés. Barcelona hosted Rayo Vallecano on Monday, with Schalke losing 3-0 away to Augsburg and Freiburg beating Werder Bremen 4-1.
