Fever do not answer questions about pro-Cunningham rally ahead of 105-95 win against Storm
Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark were not made available to answer questions after Indiana Fever’s 105-95 win over the Seattle Storm on Tuesday night, following a rally outside Climate Pledge Arena tied to Cunningham’s recent comments about transgender athletes. A crowd of a few dozen gathered to support Cunningham and promote Washington statewide Initiatives 638 and 011, which would bar transgender students from participating in girls’ athletics. Cunningham was booed by Storm fans when she entered the game and during her first free throws. Fever did not provide players for media interviews; Kelsey Mitchell, Monique Billings, and coach Stephanie White addressed reporters instead. Fever’s PR said the team and Cunningham had no knowledge of the demonstration.
