Film club to screen coming-of-age drama at Chippenham cinema

Chippenham Film Club will screen the coming-of-age drama “Christy” at the Reel Cinema on August 11 at 7:30pm. Tickets are priced at £10.49, and attendance is open to the public; membership is not required. The 2025 Irish film, directed by Brendan Canty and written by Alan O’Gorman, follows a 17-year-old dealing with foster care and reconnecting with an estranged half-brother in Cork. The cast includes Danny Power as Christy and Diarmuid Noyes as Shane, supported by Emma Willis, Alison Oliver, Chris Walley and Helen Behan. Set in Knocknaheeny, a working-class area of Cork, the story explores family, trauma and community resilience. The club notes that annual membership provides a 35% discount on screenings.
