Fire loan D Christopher Cupps to Scottish club

Chicago Fire loaned homegrown defender Christopher Cupps to Scotland’s Greenock Morton FC on Monday. The agreement runs through the end of 2026, and Chicago retains the right to recall the 18-year-old at any point. Fire sporting director Gregg Broughton said the club is excited for Cupps to continue developing during the rest of the year in “a new and challenging environment.” He added that Cupps has shown high potential and has met the challenges he’s faced so far, and that competitive matches should help him mature as both a player and a person. Over the past two seasons, Cupps has made six appearances, including three starts.
