First Championship sacking announced as club release statement with two exits co

Preston North End announced it has parted ways with Paul Heckingbottom as First Team Football Manager, according to a club release. The statement said the decision followed “significant investment in the playing squad” since Heckingbottom joined, but that results in 2026 and at the start of the current campaign were not acceptable. It also confirmed Stuart McCall has left the club. Preston said it will appoint a new manager as soon as possible, but until then Jason Euell will take charge of first-team matters on an interim basis. The club added that more updates would follow.
