Former Arsenal, Barcelona Legend Signs to Surprise MLS Club

Alexis Sánchez has signed with CF Montréal through the 2027 MLS season, with an option extending to the 2027-28 schedule, the first season under the new league calendar. The Chilean forward, 37, became the club’s biggest star since Didier Drogba after a teaser post on Monday led to swift confirmation on Tuesday. Sánchez will join as a Designated Player and is expected to help replace Montréal’s depleted DP slots after Iván Jaime left 12 games into the season. A former Barcelona and Arsenal standout, he has 51 Chile goals, won two Copa América titles, and scored four times in 28 La Liga matches for Sevilla last season.
