Former football booster club treasurer is accused of stealing $400K

A former treasurer of the Wolverine Football Club in Aliso Niguel High School, Southern California, has been indicted on charges tied to theft of more than $400,000 raised for the team. Julie Hanway Molina, 56, was arrested Thursday in Aliso Viejo, Orange County, and pleaded not guilty after her arraignment in federal court. Prosecutors say that between 2023 and November 2025, funds were diverted from the club’s bank account to cover Molina’s mortgage and personal residence and to pay credit card expenses. The indictment alleges $411,761.54 in unauthorized payments and emails containing false treasurer reports. The FBI is investigating.
