Freddie Burns: Leicester Tigers bring former fly-half back as a coach
xCruzo Brief
Freddie Burns is back with Leicester Tigers as the club’s new kicking coach, returning to the Premiership side just three weeks after announcing his retirement as a player. The 36-year-old is best remembered at Welford Road for a last-minute drop-goal against Saracens that sealed Leicester’s 2022 Premiership title at Twickenham. Capped five times for England between 2012 and 2014, Burns previously played for Tigers in two spells and also represented Gloucester and Bath, with stints in New Zealand and Japan. He replaces Alex Davies, who joined Wales’ coaching staff, and will work under head coach Geoff Parling.
